The Virtual Ceremony of the Women’s Empowerment Programme Latin America will take place on Thursday, September 23rd 2021 from 16:00 to the 17:30 CEST.
Format: Virtual zoom event and live streamed on the Ban Ki-moon Centre’s social media
Audience: The event will be open to the public via the live stream. Special invitations to join the zoom meeting directly will be given to various stakeholders,
who have been involved in the WEP.
Event Context: The Women’s Empowerment Programme Latin America (WEP) is a fellowship programme that trains 20 young women from Bolivia, Brazil, El Salvador, Honduras and Peru to be global citizen leaders. The programme is organized in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna between July 2021 and March 2022.
Objective: The virtual ceremony of the Women’s Empowerment Programme closes the programme’s first phase of the leadership training and marks the launch of the second phase of the programme, in which the fellows implement an SDG Micro-Project between October 2021 and March 2022. The Ceremony, furthermore, opens the virtual exhibition of the SDG Micro-Project Illustrations and serves to celebrate the fellows’ successes during the leadership training.
